My stay at Hotel Hacienda Sueno Azul was a mix of serene nature and some disappointing aspects. The rooms offered stunning views of the lake and were spacious. yet the facilities seemed a little neglected. While I enjoyed the vibrant wildlife around the hotel, I found the restaurant options lacking, leaving me to eat out during my stay.

My junior suite was spacious with beautiful views of the park around the lake. though I was disappointed that one of the jacuzzis was not working. The room had nice coffee making facilities, but felt a bit rustic without glass in the windows.
Service

The service was okay. the girl at reception didn’t speak English, and I felt a lack of information about activities around the hotel. I appreciated that staff were willing to help arrange excursions.
Location

The hotel is located near a chocolate factory and surrounded by beautiful grounds. with many birds and wildlife to observe, which I enjoyed. However, the trek to the hotel felt a bit rugged, crossing narrow bridges.
Dining

I found the dining options at the hotel less appealing. the restaurant felt dated and the breakfast on my first morning was disappointing, especially the fresh fruit. I chose to eat out instead.
Facilities

The facilities seemed under-maintained. the spa jacuzzi area was being repaired and I noticed the pool was dirty until I mentioned it. Eventually, they cleaned it the following day.

My stay at Hotel Hacienda Sueno Azul was a good experience. The location is beautifully secluded, surrounded by nature and wildlife, though access required crossing narrow bridges. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the rustic charm of the hotel created a relaxing atmosphere. I enjoyed the large patio of my chalet that overlooked the serene lake, but there were some minor issues with the hot water in the shower.

I loved my rustic room with high ceilings and a spacious bathroom. The private patio overlooking the lake was a perfect spot to unwind, though the hot water was fickle, fluctuating between scalding and cold.

The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to help. They even arranged for an English-speaking guide for our butterfly tour, which I appreciated very much.

Sueno Azul is in a beautiful but somewhat isolated area. Surrounded by lush landscaping, the natural surroundings were home to amazing birds and wildlife, though the access was a bit tricky with two narrow wire bridges.

The food was decent, with classic dishes and good-sized portions. I particularly enjoyed the fresh salads and plentiful fruit available at the buffet.

I had mixed feelings about my stay at Hotel Hacienda Sueno Azul. The room was spacious and had a beautiful deck overlooking a pond teeming with wildlife, but there were some cleanliness issues that detracted from my experience. The grounds were lovely and full of potential for outdoor activities, though some facilities, like the jacuzzi, were unfortunately out of order during my visit.

The Junior Suite was spacious with a fabulous wrap-around deck, but it had a persistent musty smell and visible insect issues in the closet. The lovely view couldn’t quite overshadow the cleanliness problems I encountered.
Service

While the staff tried their best to accommodate us, the language barrier made communication difficult at times. There was a lack of proactive customer service, especially regarding the issues in my room.

The hotel's setting among the rainforests of the Sarapiqui region is stunning and offers plenty of nature to explore. I loved the proximity to local waterfalls and the potential for outdoor adventures.
Dining

Dining was buffet-style with decent options, though nothing particularly nice. I appreciated the fresh salads and fruit, but overall, the meals were just satisfactory.

The facilities had potential, like the lovely pool area, but it felt a bit shabby and was limited in size. I encountered some maintenance issues, notably with the jacuzzi being out of order.

My stay at Hotel Hacienda Sueno Azul was a mixed experience. The amazing beauty of the rainforest and rivers surrounding the hotel was a highlight 🌳. However, I encountered issues like inconsistent hot water and overpriced food. Overall, the hotel's potential is evident, but improvements are greatly needed.

The hotel's location is truly captivating, nestled in the heart of the rainforest and close to adventure spots like the Pacuare River. It provided a peaceful escape.
Dining

The food was decent but definitely overpriced, with some meals falling flat. I found a $10 hamburger to be subpar and overall was disappointed by the value.

Though the grounds were beautiful, many facilities, like the suspension bridges, were in dire need of maintenance. Safety was a concern at times.

I had a mixed experience at Hotel Hacienda Sueno Azul. The grounds and natural beauty are absolutely stunning, but the hotel itself is in real need of maintenance and attention to detail. While the staff were friendly and obliging, the dining options didn't meet my expectations, and I encountered some issues with room amenities.
